Summit County has multiple municipal courts beyond Akron's. The Barberton Municipal Court is at 576 W Park Avenue, Room 205, phone 330-753-2261. The Stow Municipal Court at 4400 Courthouse Boulevard handles cases from other parts of the county, phone 330-564-4200. Depending on where an incident took place, the case might go to one of these courts instead of Akron's.

Akron Court Records and State Resources
The Supreme Court of Ohio runs the state court system and sets the rules that govern how the Summit County Clerk handles records. Under the Rules of Superintendence, felony case files are kept for 50 years and OVI files for 50 years. Other misdemeanor files stay for 25 years. Civil case files are retained for two years after closing. The docket and journal records are held for 25 years. Auditor reports are permanent. These schedules apply to every court serving Akron.
